Our History
2025
At the 2025 Sydney Uni Sports Awards, SUNC was awarded the John Kean Trophy for Club of the Year 2024 and our Head Coach Jack Thomas won the 2024 Coach of the Year.

For the second year in a row, our varsity teams were champions in the Teal Cup and UNE Tri-Series competitions.

We had many club achievements to celebrate in 2025, including 7 Club Premierships and 11 teams playing in Grand Finals. SUNC was also awarded the Inner West Netball Association President's Trophy. SUNC Cheetahs won the IWNA Deneice Oxley Trophy and SUNC Fisher Cats won the IWNA Leslie Evans Trophy for Highest Goal Average (Senior Grades).

2024
SUNC enjoyed success with mixed varsity teams, winning UniSport Nationals (for the first time), Teal Cup and the UNE Tri-Series Competitions and our women's Nationals team placed 5th. The club season resulted in 5 Premierships with an incredible 13 total teams in Grand Finals.

2023
In 2023, our talented Executive team reached new heights and won the 2022 Club of the Year at the Sydney University Sports Awards. We also saw record registration numbers, doubling the club's size within 12 months. We introduced three Mixed teams and a Mens team to the Inner West Netball Association competition, and merged with Sydney Uni Varsity Netball Club to enter Mixed and Men's teams into the M-League Competition.
The club won 6 Premierships, including our inaugural Men's and Mixed teams. Our Mixed varsity squads enjoyed similar success, placing second in the Teal Cup and nabbing silver at Nationals on the Gold Coast.

2022
In 2022, SUNC entered its third year of club netball at IWNA and won its first club premiership with SUNC Leopards.
We also hosted our first ever end of season Gala Dinner to celebrate the achievements of the club, and founded two annual awards - the Issie McCalman Club Person of the Year and the Jemma Donoghue Most Valued Player. Belle Whitwell and Sabrina Zeng were our inaugural recipients.

2021
SUNC entered four Women's teams into the Inner West Netball Association's winter competition in Concord, as well as participating in social netball at Sydney Uni Sport & Fitness.

The UniSport Nationals teams had incredible results, with our Women winning Gold and Mixed winning Bronze. The club also celebrated Zoe Naylor winning the Pat Sharp Award for Female Club Administrator of the Year at the Sydney Uni Sports Awards.

2020
Sydney Uni Varsity Club entered four Women's teams into the Dooley's Metro League and took out premierships in both the Mens Div 1 and Mixed Div 1 M-League Competitions, with both teams enjoying undefeated seasons.

For the first time, SUNC also expanded into club netball and joined the West Netball Association's winter competition in Concord.

2019
UniSport Nationals saw our Nationals Division 1 Women's team finish with second place in the Gold Coast. The club also entered its very first Women's and Mixed squads into the Teal Cup, a varsity competition hosted by UTS, and were runners up.

2018
Sydney Uni Varsity Club entered Women's teams into the Dooley's Metro League and won Club of the Year for 2017 at the Sydney Uni Sports Awards night.
